Unfortunately, not all physicians
and hospitals are careful and competent. All too often, negligent
medical care results in severe injury or the unnecessary death of a patient.
David P. Kownacki has been litigating medical malpractice cases for over
twenty years. If you believe that yourself or a loved one has been the victim
of negligent medical care, please contact us for a free consultation.
$1,000,000
settlement after opening statements at trial achieved for mother of child
severely disabled by spina bifida and hydrocephalus. We proved that the defendant
pre-natal clinic was negligent in its failure to perform an AFP test that
would have identified neural tube defects in the fetus. 22672/95, Bronx
$3,100,000
settlement for woman who fell and struck her head while walking
in Manhattan. We proved that New York Hospital staff failed to
diagnose and treat a bleeding condition within Ms. Wondolowski's
brain and that the delay in treatment caused brain damage resulting
in partial paralysis of her arms and legs. R.N. 93 Civ 4390, United
States District Court, Southern District of New York.
$3,100,000
settlement for woman involved in a four-car motor vehicle accident
while driving to work. Our client was taken to the Phelps Memorial Hospital
Emergency Room. The doctors there failed to diagnose broken neck
and discharged our client. She became paralyzed during the night
and returned to the hospital the next morning. It still took the
hospital staff three more days to correctly diagnose the fracture
and damage to the spinal cord. 9970/88, Westchester County.
